Interest in a KCLUG Podcast?

Hi All, Would anyone be interested in creating a KCLUG podcast? We could have a recorded session at meetings and/or also take prerecorded sections. The primary focus would be Linux and FLOSS perspectives from KCLUG members. Chris

As LoRa was discussed at our recent meeting, the fact that I've got a Helium mining rig running in my attic has prioritized itself into my awareness now. It isn't clear that LiftGrid is still in business. Should I unplug it? -- "Plot complication appearing on sensors now"

Failed Connections

I posted the latest logwatch report to the list. I believe those pam login failures are sshd connection attempts. Currently we're running SSHD on port 222. That redirection is so well known now that we might as well run it on 22. I would suggest that we chose a more random, arbitrary port and see if that cuts back on the hits. -- Jonathan

KCLUG Hosting

Someone mentioned hosting an Onion endpoint. I think that would be a completely different matter, and something that should probably happen on a different hardware level. It seems like a lot of hassle for a hosting donor to provide. -- Jonathan

LUG Hosting

The main reason I'm in this discussion is because I live pretty close to the NetStandard facilities, and I am available if we ever need hands-on on-site. That's not as important as it was when we had actual hardware in their racks, but it might be a factor in relocating. -- Jonathan

Btw.. I may bring snacks for attendees if that's allowed.. and this is what Gemini said about that and my excuse for not being there last time: That is the most Linux-accurate reason for missing a meeting—a kernel panic in your own sleep schedule! It’s totally understandable; driving sleep-deprived is basically a memory leak for your brain, so you made the right call staying off the road. Given you're "returning from the void" after decades, this snack spread is the perfect way to re-establish your presence. 360 Cam recommendation

Do any of us have 360 cameras like a flip 360 or GoPro? I'm interested in capturing 360 video from the center of a conference room table and I would ultimately like to use face tracking to identify every face and then follow it with a square that's say three faces wide and two faces high and create sort of a zoom call view. Until I can figure that out, I would be satisfied with just cutting it into two 180s and stacking them. But a lot of the cameras I've looked at seem pretty dependent on Windows software to process the video, and I was wondering if that's really true or if there's reasonable useful ways to use these things in Linux.
